Photo 1 This photograph reflects how I see the world because it shows the scene of a cold winter evening. I see the world as a very cold and sad place, and this photo shows that. Despite the cold of the snow and winter, trees and plants are able to withstand it, year after year. They continue to survive the weather in order to produce food or homes for animals in the next season. This is how I view the world. It may be a bitter place, but we are able to withstand it in order to grow stronger and build a better world for future generations. Just as in the middle of winter, when it seems summer will never come, when hearing stories of violence and discrimination, it is hard to imagine that there is any good in the world. But then, the season changes and I realize that I can withstand the cold of the world, in order to grow and build a better future.

Photo 2 This photograph reflects how I view the world because it shows that the world is full of darkness and light. Through death and destruction, the world is dark and cold. There is hopelessness and sadness and it is hard to find anything meaningful. However, in the darkness, light shines that much brighter. There is always light and always hope in finding the light. In the world, there are people than can be seen as small lights in the dark or actions that can be seen as rays of light. This light makes the darkness of the world bearable, if only we can find it. As terrible as the world may seem, there is always the hope of finding the light-switch, finding that one meaningful act that dissipates the darkness, if only for a short period of time. In the world, we have to keep fighting to find the good in the worst situations, because without it, there is no hope for light.
